Researching Coal Industry Communities

Description

Come celebrate Family History Month with the Westmoreland County Libraries. Genealogist Kate Townsend will present “Charting Out the Company Town in Pennsylvania: Researching Coal Industry Communities.” Many people in our area worked in coal mines and lived in towns owned completely or partially by the coal company. Learn how to locate company towns on maps and what life was like in such a town. For more information, call the library at 724-238-6451 or email paroom@ligonierlibrary.org
