Echoing 250 Years: Fireside Chats at Compass Inn Museum
Thursday, April 9, 2026 (1:30 PM - 3:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
Vanishing Spirits: From Temperance Crusades to Prohibition Crackdowns
On April 9, visit with Theresa Gay Rohall, Executive Director of the Ligonier Valley Historical & Compass Inn Museum, and Kacey Wees, Program and Communications Coordinator of the Ligonier Valley Historical & Compass Inn Museum, as they open the conversation into the Temperance and Prohibition Movements in this area. Using first-hand accounts and artifacts, Theresa and Kacey explore the movement away from alcohol consumption and towards a sober society. They echo the voices of the valley in favor of a monumental social change, one of them being Charlie Armor, son and grandson of former Inn Keepers, and owners of the Compass Inn.
Admission is $5. Due to limited space, the "Chats" are recommended for adults only. Tickets are available for purchase on Eventbrite until the day before the event. As these have been historically popular events, we cannot guarantee walk-in tickets. We highly suggest you purchase your tickets in advance.
PLEASE NOTE: This Fireside Chat will feature the same topic and conversation as the Fireside Chat on April 11th.
