Explore your creative side at Main Exhibit Gallery & Art Center! All classes are held at our fully accessible Art Center in the heart of Ligonier, 301 West Main St. Thanksgiving is just around the corner! This "Thanksgiving-Themed" set of plates is perfect for your holiday entertaining--give them as gifts, put on a mantle to decorate, use them for candy, dipping sauces, and more! These images are just examples of what YOU could create! Each dish is approx. 5 1/2" in diameter. Under the guidance of Instructor Cray Charlebois, you'll learn the basics of working with clay slabs as you form a set of three small plates, just in time for fall gatherings! Cray will have several pieces on display to inspire you as you work. She'll help you learn the slab technique, form your pieces, and work with underglazes to embellish them with Fall-Themed designs. After they dry, we'll bisque-fire them for you and then glaze-fire them, and let you know via email when they're available for pickup.* This workshop is for ages 14 and up. (We welcome 9-13 year-olds if accompanied by a responsible adult.) Go solo or invite a friend or family member to take the class with you! You might get messy, so bring an apron or wear work clothes and closed shoes that can get dirty, and leave your rings and fine jewelry at home. We have space for up to 8 participants in this class. Registration required. Free parking is available to all students!
