About

Ligonier Township Volunteer Fire Department #1 (Waterford) was established in 1937 and Incorporated in 1938.  We are a 501(c)(3) all volunteer Fire Department located in Ligonier Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.    We have 8 apparatus housed in the station: Engines 44-1 and 44-2, Tanker 44, Rescue 44, Utility 44, Brush 44, Ranger 44 and Squad 44.  We provide fire protection and rescue services throughout our community which includes but is not limited to: Waterford, Oakgrove, Laughlintown, Rector, Oakwood Hills, Laurel Mountain Ski Resort, R.K. Mellon Elementary School, Ligonier Valley Middle School, Valley School of Ligonier, Bethlen Home, Laurel Mountain Borough, Laurel Valley Golf Club, Rolling Rock Club and Farms, SR 271 and 30 to the County Lines 


Relying on donations, we hold numerous fundraisers during the year including Bingo on Monday nights and Fish Fries on Friday evenings during lent.   During the Spring and Fall we hold a Gun Bash and every October we take our food truck to Fort Ligonier Days.  100% of our fundraising monies are utilized to maintain our Fire Station, grounds, apparatus and gear.  We are always looking for people to join our Fire Fighting Family.
